HKSI Institute Announces the Re-Election of Mr John Maguire as Chairman and the Re-Appointment and Election of Board Members

Hong Kong, 14 December: At its 20th Annual General Meeting today, the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (“HKSI Institute”) announced the re-election of Mr John Maguire as Chairman, and the re-appointment and election of new Board Members for the 2018 term.

Mr John Maguire has served as Chairman since December 2015, and has been a member of the Board since December 2012. He is the Head of Corporate Finance and Senior Managing Director of Yunfeng Financial Group. Mr Maguire also serves as a Deputy Chairman of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel and a Member of the Takeovers Appeal Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission. In addition, Mr Maguire is a Member of the Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a Member of the Financial Services Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, a Member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Securities and Investment Federation, a Member of the Asian Financial Forum Steering Committee and a Member of the Company Law Committee of The Law Society of Hong Kong.

The Institute has benefitted tremendously from their knowledge and experience, and I look forward to working with my fellow directors on further initiatives in the coming year,” said Mr Maguire.

At the AGM, the following Directors were elected:

  3. Mr Paul Day (re-elected)
  4. Mr Victor Lee (re-elected)

The HKSI Institute 2018 Board of Directors comprises fourteen directors of whom three directors are appointed by the SFC, and non-SFC appointees elected by its Members. The Board of Directors comprises Members from different business sectors across the financial services-related industry, including from the corporate finance, fund management, futures, investment analysis, and securities sectors.
